Chuck Cook

Owner

Chuck is a third-generation floor-covering professional who grew up assisting his father in their family-owned business, Cook's Carpets of Murphy, NC.

After obtaining a business degree at Mars Hill College near Asheville, NC, Chuck worked as a manufacturing representative with the William M. Bird Company for almost a decade, gaining valuable knowledge of the installation and care for a variety of textiles and solid surface floors.

Chuck has dedicated his career to the floor covering industry where he has gained expertise in sales, cleaning, restoration, and installation. Chuck resides with his wife, Barbara, in Waynesville where they enjoy spending time with their friends, family, and pets.

Barbara Cook

Owner

Barbara is co-owner of Cook's Carpet and Flooring. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, and a master’s degree in Human Resources from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.

Barbara has transitioned from a career in software training and development to the retail floor-covering industry. She enjoys working directly with customers to find solutions that will not only beautify but add value to their homes.

Queitha Pless

Queitha is a native of Canton, North Carolina and a graduate of Pisgah High School where she graduated with Honors in both Arts and Computer System Technologies. Queitha is certified in Flooring Design by Carpet One and is also a Certified Home Consultant. Her background in flooring is based on a family trade, where her dad is a master Tile Technician. Quietha resides in Canton with her husband, Gage, and their four cats and two dogs. She enjoys assisting clients in the showroom with the flooring selection process and working alongside flooring installers to ensure the client's vision is satisfied in their home.

Jennie Kirby

Jennie is a native of Atlanta, Georgia where she obtained a degree in Finance from Georgia State University. She and her family relocated to Waynesville, North Carolina in 2003. Currently, Jennie is working on her Carpet One “Floor and Home Consultant” certification. One of Jennie’s favorite interests is Interior Design. She enjoys all aspects of helping homeowners with their decorating needs. At Cook’s Carpet and Flooring, Jennie hopes to help both new and existing clients with their flooring and tile selections to create spaces they will enjoy for years.

Jasper Cook

Jasper is our 14-year-old mixed-breed greeter. Expect to see him at the door as he is here to welcome you to our showroom! Jasper is a rescue pup and he will win your heart with his friendly personality (which he gets from his dad) and his adorable freckles (which he gets from his mom).

Austin Kisselburg

Austin, the Showroom Guide, is a hometown graduate of T.C.E.C. which is a fusion of high school and college. As a T.C.E.C. graduate, he obtained both a high school diploma and an Associate degree. He is the first person you will meet when entering our store. Austin enjoys conversing with all the customers whether it involves flooring or spur-of-the-moment small talk.

Joseph Kisselburg

Joseph is a husband and father to five with the youngest being nineteen to the oldest being thirty-three. He has been working for this store for nearly forty years as an installer. Now Joseph is the Warehouse Manager that shares his plentiful expertise involving anything floor-related whenever needed. Many questions which customers ask are quickly answered due to his extensive knowledge in regards to the field of installation.

Donnie Cook

Donnie is a previous business owner and installer. He is the head of both job measuring and quote figuring. Donnie is someone who is more than willing to work with any customer when setting up dates for scheduled measures. Additionally, with his knowledge pooled from both sides of the field any concerns customers have are easily cleared when he is out on the measure.
